Would you like to add a budget now?
Each budget is one specific control rule. A Budget always belongs to one Project, one Group, one Category and one Year.
Budgets do not use “All”. Project, Group and Category must always be specific. This avoids overlapping or contradictory rules and keeps every planned amount unambiguous.
For example, LULO / Travel / Food is a different Budget from Personal / Travel / Food. Each one is controlled independently against the Transactions that match that exact classification.
This keeps the accounting data specific while allowing flexible summaries and comparisons later.
Reports are designed to turn your accounting data into useful financial information.
Their purpose is to help you understand your finances and answer the basic questions of personal accounting or self-employment.
Projects, Groups and Categories explain the activity behind income and expenses.
Accounts show how much you own and how much you owe.
Transfers simply move money between accounts and do not create income or expenses.
